The Kids are Not Alright...

At Koster Kare, our staff is made up of people who have worked in “the system” for their entire careers and are tired of the lack of results for teens, kids and families. We have seen time and time again, a lot of money and resources being spent, with little to no long-term results. 

Families losing hope and kids sliding back, depressed, anxious, struggling to socialize and practically addicted to their devices.

Does the system acknowledge these issues?

Not really. 

Common resolutions to these issues are medications and not much else. Yes, there may be some intervention, but people in the system are burnt out and it's common to see kids that are struggling being passed down, with not many results.

It's frustrating and exhausting to watch as people who want to see long-lasting and sustainable results for kids and their families. 

Take the device overuse issue. Is that even acknowledged in schools or in the system?

Practically never.

Which is shocking and disturbing when we know as a society what level of an issue it is, not only for teens and kids, but our society as a whole.

However, the good news is that in your home, YOU as the parent are in charge of your child’s environment. YOU set the boundaries and can use so many opportunities to teach your kids how to thrive in this challenging world. 

That is where Koster Kare comes in. We understand that it can be challenging for parents to navigate all this. It gets even more difficult if boundaries have already been crossed, or your home environment is not where you'd like it to be. Many parents today are exhausted and burnt out and in post-covid survival-mode themselves. 

We use holistic methods and small changes over long periods of time to sustain permanent changes and results. Change like this is not always easy and can be difficult for parents to sustain alone. As a parent, it is common to experience a lot of push-back, and kids initially respond better to “outside people” than ones they are familiar with.
